Careerplan

Introduction

Feature image

This Career Management Skills Programme is based on an eight week course, run successfully by Educational & Careers Guidance Officers at the University of Northampton for small groups of second year students. Feedback has been very positive but timetabling constraints and other commitments have meant that not everyone interested has been able to participate. This on-line programme offers motivated students a unique opportunity to think seriously about future plans, and thus enhance their future career prospects.

How to use this site

  • There are 4 main sections which you can look at in any order depending on how clear your career plans are. However, if you are not very clear at this stage, working through the programme step-by-step will help you understand that making career decisions is a logical process.
  • Each page is divided into a left-hand navigation panel, the central 'content' and a right-hand navigation panel.
  • Links to each main section are in the right hand panel on every page.
  • Select links from the left panel to progress logically through each step.
  • The 'next' and 'previous' links at the bottom of the content aid navigation.
  • There is a site map link at the top of every page to help you get an overview of the programme.
Task There are activities/tasks within this site, usually identified by this icon. Links following this icon often launch a Word document, providing you with a choice to either read from screen or print a paper copy to work from.
